Some drama, a few laughs, and few specifics... That's a taste from the three man show Sunday evening at the Olney Theatre Center. It was the Montgomery County Executive Candidates Forum. The Greater Olney Civic Association sponsored the event, starring Democratic Council members: Andrew Friedson, Evan Glass and Will Jawando. Among the hot topics, whether
school resource officers (SRO/police) should be on patrol at the county's public schools. The question comes after incidents involving guns at several Montgomery County high schools, including nearby Blake. Other issues include crime in the county, property taxes and concerns over a drug rehab center near Greenwood Elementary in Brookeville. Candidates gave few direct answers on how they would address the problems. The Democratic primary is June 23rd. The candidates are fighting to replace County Executive Marc Elrich.
